Your journey begins with visits to Munneswaram and Manawary temples, where Rama is said to have prayed after his victory over Ravana. You’ll then travel north to Trincomalee to explore Koneswaram Temple and Ritigala Mountain, both linked to Hanuman’s travels. The tour also includes stops at iconic UNESCO World Heritage sites like Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla Cave Temple, blending ancient history with religious significance.

Itinerary

  • Arrival at Colombo Airport.

  • Guide will meet and welcome you at the arrival gate.

  • Visit Munneswaram Temple, where Rama prayed to Lord Siva after defeating Rawana.

  • Stop at Manawari temple, where Rama installed a Siva Lingam to absolve the sin of killing Rawana.

  • Overnight in Dambulla.

  • Visit Ritigala mountain associated with the Hanuman Journey.

  • Explore Koneswaram Temple, a sacred site revered by Hindus and Buddhists.

  • Overnight in Trincomalee.

  • Visit Dambulla Cave Temple. The attractive frescoes are designed on the walls and ceiling.

  • Next, visit Sigiriya fortress. Sigiriya Rock is a UNESCO World Heritage site with ancient ruins and frescoes.

  • Overnight at a Dambulla Hotel.

  • En route, visit Matale Spice Garden to see authentic Sri Lankan spices and handmade products.

  • Check in to a Kandy Hotel (Kandy is the cultural capital of Sri Lanka).

  • At 3:00 pm, visit the Temple of the Tooth Kandy, which holds Lord Buddha’s sacred Tooth Relic.

  • At 5:00 pm, you can be entertained at the Kandy cultural show.

  • Overnight at a Kandy Hotel.

  • Visit Seetha Amman Temple, believed to be where Seetha was held captive.

  • Explore Haggala Botanical Garden, said to be one of Ravana’s pleasure gardens.

  • Stop at Ravana Falls and Ravana Caves, which are linked to the legend of Ravana. (Hanuman is a central character in the Hindu epic Ramayana; he is a devoted follower of Lord Rama and plays a key role in the battle against Rawana).

  • Overnight at a Nuwara Eliya hotel.

  • Visit Kataragama Temple, dedicated to Lord Murugan.

  • It attracts devotees from various faiths, including Hindu, Buddhist, Tamil, and Muslim.

  • See multiple Kovil and Dewala, including Ganapathi Kovil, Shiva Kovil, and Valli Amma Kovil.

  • Other attractions include Kiri Vihara, Manik Gaga, and Sella Kataragama.

  • Overnight at a Kataragama Hotel.

  • Relaxing at Hikkaduwa Beach.

  • In the evening, visit Galle Dutch Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later modified and improved by the Dutch.

  • Overnight at Galle.

  • Early morning, start the journey to see Muthurajawela wetland. This land has a natural attraction for bird watching.

  • Arrange a Muthurajawela Dutch Canal Boat Trip to enjoy.

  • This area was once a huge paddy cultivation and those were converted for marshes comprising sedge and grasses now. It also has a bird sanctuary.

  • Negombo Lagoon is covered by Mangroves and Aquatic plants.

  • This wetland is a beautiful green garden close to Colombo city.

  • In the evening, go to Negombo Town Fish Market and Fishing Port. The majority of Negombo villagers are occupied by Fishing and Tourism.

  • Go to Luis place, an area where tourists can be utilized and gain their various needs such as foods, entertaining games, accommodations, refreshments, shopping, and all other benefits.

  • Overnight at a Negombo hotel.

  • After breakfast, travel to the Airport for your departure.
